Kerala

The small state of Kerala, which represents just 1% of the land mass, is considered to be one of India's most beautiful state. It is a very rural state with most of the population living in villages but is culturally and scenically diverse. Trivandrum also known as Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram which was previously called Trivandrum, is an ancient city with tradition dating back to 1000 BC. Thiruvananthapuram became the capital of Raja of Travancore in 1750. The name is derived from 'Tiru Ananta Puram', the abode of the Sacred serpent Ananta, upon whose coils Vishnu lies in the main temple.  

It is a peaceful attractive city built across seven hills, the city's old quarter clusters around the temple, while along the busy Mahatma Gandhi Road are colonial mansions, churches and modern high-rises. Thiruvananthapuram had managed to retain some of the ambience characteristics of Kerala such as red tiled roofs, narrow winding lanes and intimate corner cafes.

Thiruvananthapuram city is the capital of one of the most beautiful states in India, Kerala. It is situated on the southern tip of Malabar Coast in Peninsular India. ‘Thiru-anantha-puram’ means the town of the sacred snake-god Ananthan It stretches along the shores of the Arabian sea. Trivandrum, is famous for its enchanting tourist spots including internationally renowned beaches like Kovalam , historic monuments with Gothic architecture, lakes and backwaters, unexplored mountain ranges etc. The city enjoys a notable position in the tourist map of India It also possess a handful of naturalistic and magnificent beaches, backwaters, mountains, wild life sancturies, historic monuments etc.

Varkala beach A seaside resort with Papanasham Beach, 2000year old Temple and the Nature Care Centre.
Shankhumukham beach Easily accessible beach with statue of Matsyakanyaka ,5kms from the Residancy.
Veli tourist village Picnic spot with boating facilities(8.00 am to 6.00 pm).Nearly 7kms from the Apartment.
Aakulam tourist village Picnic spot with water park(9.30 to 7.00 pm) just 4 kms from our residency.
The Napier Museum The Museum along with Zoological gardenis located at 1.5 kms from apartment.
Agastyakodam The second highest peak in Kerala, season from December to April is advocated for trekking.
Ponmudi hills An idyllic hill resort with springs ,deer park nearby,and trekking trails.
Padmanabha swamy Temple It is a blend of Kerala and Dravidian architecture and mural painting sand stone carvings.
Koyikkal Palace A double storeyed traditional Nalukettu building ,on the way to Ponmudi.
Observatory Trivandrum One of the oldest peaks in India, located near the museum complex .
